(More customer reviews)The buttons on this calculator are soft/grippy rubber, which makes them difficult to work given their size (the area you have to press is directly in the center of the key and takes quite a push to make work.You definitely can't 10-key this thing without looking carefully to make sure each keypress is registered.Further, after only one day of use, the kids managed to drop it from about desk height onto the floor (which has been done with just about ever thing on my desk a time or two!) and the calculator stopped working immediately - the display shows only a garbled set of half-characters.So much for that $18...

So, if you're looking for a novelty gift for someone turning 40 or 50, this is the thing to get.If you want a large, durable, easy-to-10-key desk calculator, then keep looking.

(More customer reviews)Product is generally what it's made out to be, with one notable exception.It is not a dual power item (just battery power), which was an important criteria for me (if you don't care about solar power, there are lots of other large calculators).Button layout is also different from the picture, but generally functional.

Overall the calculator works, but you have to be careful to press the large buttons right in the center, or your entry may not be registered.Not a big deal, but it means that you have to watch the screen carefully as you push buttons to make sure nothing is missed.

One other "nice to have" would have been comma displays in large numbers (e.g., 1,000,000 for one million, whereas the calculator displays 1000000).

Other than that it works like you would expect a calculator to; and the price is reasonable.

Canon does not tell you that you can change the internal battery when it runs out.They want you to buy a new one.Truth is, you can unscrew the bottom, and remove the tiny flat battery and replace at any Radio Shack.

(More customer reviews)I use this for my home record keeping.I tend to be fast on data entry - 12,000 kpm- so this is slow on the print mode, but it keeps up with me...eventually.It took me awhile to get used to it clacking away while I was done - this was just the tape printing, I'd have my total in the digital part of the machine.I use it constantly - I have a huge Texas Instruments one at work that cost 5 times what this one cost and it's print speed is not much faster.The key positioning is awesome, I don't even need to look at it while I'm entering numbers.I highly recommend it.
