8 Digit Display Large Key Jumbo Calculator Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The buttons on this calculator are soft/grippy rubber, which makes them difficult to work given their size (the area you have to press is directly in the center of the key and takes quite a push to make work. You definitely can't 10-key this thing without looking carefully to make sure each keypress is registered.Further, after only one day of use, the kids managed to drop it from about desk height onto the floor (which has been done with just about ever thing on my desk a time or two!) and the calculator stopped working immediately - the display shows only a garbled set of half-characters.So much for that $18...

So, if you're looking for a novelty gift for someone turning 40 or 50, this is the thing to get.If you want a large, durable, easy-to-10-key desk calculator, then keep looking.

(More customer reviews)I have had this for five years.

+

The numbers are separated by comma every three (many out there are not)
Solar augments battery life.
Pivoting Screen

Canon does not tell you that you can change the internal battery when it runs out. They want you to buy a new one.Truth is, you can unscrew the bottom, and remove the tiny flat battery and replace at any Radio Shack.

Solar Powered Mini Calculator Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this calculator almost thirty years ago at a podunk gas station in Michigan. At that time harvesting solar energy was misunderstood. So I was pleasantly surprised to find that this calculator worked well under (fairly dim) artificial light. So I took this calculator with me in my small backpack of stuff when I traveled about Europe. I unfortunately lost it when I returned. I have been looking for a similar solar powered credit card sized calculator ever since. I was further amazed to find that the same calculator that I had then is still being manufactured now (there's a reason for that). So long as the product has not changed, this calculator does work well in artificial light, but do not expect that it will work in the dark, or proximity (I don't know why anyone would).

Commercial Calculator, Large Digit/Display, Heavy Duty Keys, Dual Power, Silver Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We purchased this calculator based on the fact that it has item count capabilities. We were assuming it would add the totals and give an ongoing item count along side.It does not.We are still trying to figure out how to use the item count feature - specifically how to reset it once we're ready to start the next set of numbers. The display and keys are a nice size. The only complaint is that the there are no instructions in how to use the item count feature.
