(More customer reviews)We are a small family run farm and we go to farmer's markets every weekend plus we open up our farm for visitors and such.I needed something portable and within our very limited price range.Best thing is the wonderful job it does on taxes!We have food items which are a totally different price than our non-food items and now I don't have to go a bunch of extra steps at the end of the day.I also know what products are selling and making us money and which I can almost cut out or cut back on.Yeah - pushing the cash drawer to make it pop out can sometimes be a hassle, but one I'm willing to deal with - I found it prints faster with new batteries (which by the way seem to last forever!).I replace the C batteries 2-3 times PER YEAR and we use the machine every weekend almost.The smaller batteries which hold the information of the PLU's and such I don't change very often (maybe 1x per year).I am having a problem with the roller at this point - but it might just need to be replaced as it is now 2 years old.We are in the market for a 2nd one and recommend this one to a lot of people.

(More customer reviews)This cash register leaves a LOT to be desired.It is supposed to be Casio's best register for small to medium businesses.I would hate to see the worst.
It was difficult to program compared to Royal.If you want to use the quantity key, it only shows one total for the entry, with no breakdown of the unit price.
You cannot go back and void an entry from the tape.If you ring in an item and them ring in more items and the customer changes their mind, you have to do it as a return as there is no void key.If you ring in items for more than 8 departments on a single sale, or too many total items the buffer gets full and makes you finish the sale, and then ring in the rest of the sale on another tape and then add them together to get what the customer owes.VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.There is no way to reprogram the buffer, you are just stuck with their tiny buffer.The cash drawer has very cheap plastic for the coin drawer and the bill compartment.The change is hard to get out of the drawer due to a crappy design.The placement of the error correction key makes it very easy to bump and cancel your last sale entry.All in all this is a very inferior cash reister for the money.We paid $300 for this piece of crap.We had used Royal machines for over 15 years with basically no problems.We should have stayed with them.On a 1 to 5 star system, I would give this register less than 1.

(More customer reviews)This is my first cash register.I spent a half a day programming it.Because I'm a computer engineer, it came easier than it might for others, but I still found the user manual to be quite vague at times.

Once it's up and running, it runs like a charm.A bit slow to calculate end of day reports, but since you only do it once, that's fine.
